One of Vestcor’s founding principles is our commitment to helping others through charitable activities. We live this principle through many efforts, including the annual Vestcor 5K Bridges Run. All of the race proceeds are donated to local non-profit organizations. Since moving the race to downtown Jacksonville in 2003, we have generated more than $116,000 for local charities. Recipients have included the American Diabetes Association; Brooks Health Foundation; Community Connections; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville; Navy Marine Corp Relief Society; North Florida School; Rick Wilkins Foundation; St. Jude Hospital; Volunteer Jacksonville, Inc. Reading Program; and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
It is Vestcor’s belief that we have a corporate responsibility to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves. We donate our charitable dollars where we believe they will be most beneficial. The end result is that we are able to help ensure the success of non-profit organizations that are critical to the quality of life we all enjoy.
